Rural Health & Service Provision
Mags gained a BSc in Environmental Geography and a MSc in Rural and Regional Resources Planning both at the University of Aberdeen. She is currently completing her PhD thesis focusing on the ability of bus support policies to meet rural peoples' accessibility needs in Scotland. Mags has also worked on a number of projects which relate to service provision in rural areas, particularly in relation to health and transport services. She is interested in the social impacts and contributions policies can have in rural areas and concurrently, the different ways of providing services to meet peoples' needs. Mags is currently part of two research teams: firstly evaluating the role of Physician Assistants to NHS Scotland for NHS Education Scotland; and secondly the baseline study reviewing nursing in the Community for the Scottish Government.
