I: Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) aims to promote the care and improvement, responsible enjoyment, greater understanding, appreciation and sustainable use of the natural heritage now and for future generations. Our mission is to promote ‘All of nature for all of Scotland’. SNH is a non-departmental public body, responsible to Ministers through the Scottish Parliament.
The Communities and Greenspace Group is part of SNH’s Quality of Life Unit. The Quality of Life Unit brings together SNH’s work on landscape, recreation, communities and greenspace. It is responsible for SNH policy and advice in relation to how people experience, enjoy and understand the natural heritage. We work with national and local government, government agencies and the Third Sector, to improve health and well-being and create stronger communities and more sustainable places throughout Scotland.
